Your family’s data. Your control.

What we collect

When you create an account, we store your name, email address, and a securely hashed version of your password. We never store the password itself.

When you add a child’s profile, we store the information you provide. This may include their name, birthday, pronouns, traits, sensory preferences, medications, diagnoses, reports, and photos of them or people in their life.

We also store:

• Your conversations with Kin, including your messages and the responses.
• Journal entries and check-ins you save.
• Social stories you create, including their text and generated images.

Google Calendar (optional)

If you choose to connect Google Calendar, Kinderly asks Google for read-only access. We never add, change, or delete anything on your calendar.

We store the title, time, and location of events from the calendars you pick, for the coming two weeks, and a secure token that lets us refresh them. You tell Kinderly which child each event is for. Only events you tag for a child or for the whole family are shared with Kin, and are sent to our AI provider to write your forecasts and replies. Events you mark as not for the kids, or leave untagged, stay out of Kin.

You can disconnect in Settings at any time. When you do, we ask Google to cancel our access and delete every event we brought in.

Kinderly’s use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We don’t use calendar information for advertising, don’t sell it, and don’t use it to train AI models.

Who can access your information

Your family’s information is kept separate from other users’ accounts. Other parents and families using Kinderly cannot access it.

Kinderly staff only access your information when you ask for help with a specific issue.

What we don’t do

We don’t sell your data or share it with advertisers.

We don’t use your child’s information, your conversations, journal entries, stories, or other family data to train our AI models or anyone else’s.

We don’t share your child’s information with other parents or families using Kinderly.

We don’t provide your child’s health information to insurers, schools, or employers.

Accessing or deleting your data

You can request a copy of the information we store about you and your family. You can also ask us to delete specific information.

If you delete your account, we’ll remove your family’s data from our database within 30 days. Any remaining backup copies are removed as those backups expire on their regular schedule.

Children’s information

Kinderly is for parents and caregivers. Children do not create accounts or log in.

Parents and caregivers provide and manage the information about their children. We collect that information to provide the app’s features, and we don’t use it for advertising.

Kinderly does not measure or score your child’s behaviour. Its responses are not diagnoses.

Cookies and server logs

We use a cookie to keep you signed in and another to remember whether you’ve dismissed the “add Kinderly to your home screen” prompt. Neither is used to track you across other sites, and we don’t set third-party cookies.

Our server logs record request timestamps, URLs, and approximate location by IP address. We keep them for 30 days for debugging and security, then they are deleted.

Changes to this policy

If we make a material change to how Kinderly handles your data, we’ll email you at the address on your account before the change takes effect. For small clarifications, we’ll update the date at the top of this page.
